English boxing: Dylan Hourchmi, licensed at the Fumel-Monsempron-Libos Boxing Club, crowned French junior champion

With his title of champion of Aquitaine (junior – 80 kg), Dylan went to Ohlain in search of the title of champion of France. He recounts his journey: “In the quarter-final, I faced a Stade Lavallois graduate, Luc Hadjères. I started the fight quite well but, in the second round, I took a good blow and I was counted out. Then , I started to impose my boxing as Tahar had asked me by doing in/out.”

“Immense satisfaction for me”

In the semi-final, “against Jack Morgan, from Bourgoin, I accelerated the pace in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. He gave up after his trainer threw in the towel. Despite everything, if Tahar had not made reflection, we were in danger of being robbed of the victory On Sunday, in the final, against Janis Dubois, a boxer from Rennes, I worked remotely because I was taller than him. In the end I was declared the winner on points. (3-0).”

This title of French champion is, it must be emphasized, the result of a lot of effort and many hours of training. “It is naturally an immense satisfaction for me, but also for my family, for my coach Tahar Houaoura and for all the members of the club. It is also a great relief because I have the feeling of being rewarded for all my efforts and that the work has paid off, this victory also allows me, and this is not the least of its advantages, to project myself towards the future, beyond this belt.

Dylan has therefore just added a new line to his record as a young boxer since he had already won a French champion title last year in the cadet category. Let us add that there is hope for next season because he will still fight in the junior category.
