Golf project in Villeneuve-de-la-Raho: the grounds of the future subdivision are well on their way to selling like hot cakes

The “commercial launch” of the 600 housing development planned as part of the controversial golf project in Villeneuve-de-la-Raho was widely followed by the general public. Potential buyers of the lots put up for sale took their positions this Saturday June 1, 2024 during a meeting organized by GGL, the developer of the residential and golf complex.

Despite the appeals filed before no less than four different courts in France, Administrative Tribunal, Court of Cassation, Council of State and Court of Appeal. Despite decisions which could order, depending on the judgments rendered, either the end of the proceedings against the golf course, or a modification, if not the pure and simple cancellation of the project, the sale of land for the future subdivision of the La Raho golf course has indeed been off to a good start. And there would be no shortage of interested parties.

This is evidenced by the event which took place this Saturday, June 1 at the multipurpose hall of Villeneuve-de-la-Raho. Two months after the strong demonstration by opponents of the project, the commercial launch of the real estate operation was presented to the general public. “An event during which many people came to position themselves on land, with letters of intent”, we only comment at GGL which does not wish to communicate further on the subject. Also adding half-heartedly that future buyers are already registered “on waiting list“, the developer, without talking about success, does not hide the interest aroused by this operation among the public.

The town's multipurpose room was full

Discretion remains GGL's best friend in these times of drought and ecological media storm. It is difficult to know, for example, how many lots would have been put up for sale. And how many would have already found a buyer. But, the reality of the real estate market in Villeneuve-de-la-Raho means that “the community’s multipurpose room was full” Saturday morning, as confirmed by a home builder who came to leave a few business cards. The beautiful plots of land on offer, probably around 400 euros per square meter, with a view of the lake and the Canigó, would have attracted more than one person. However, we will have to wait for the results of the current instructions, of which there are five, to be sure that the developer is not forced to review his copy before going to the notary.
