Boxing. Lancelot de la Chapelle aims for the title of French champion at the Beuzeville gala

The last boxing gala organized in Beuzeville (Eure), near Pont-Audemer, took place almost twenty years ago. This Saturday, June 8, 2024 will be a milestone. Thirteen fights are scheduled from 7:30 p.m. at the community gymnasium, made available by the Pays de Honfleur/Beuzeville intercommunity. “I wanted to reward the most diligent club boxers,” emphasizes Athman Bouhemamaone of the three coaches of the club, the Boxing bodybuilding club of Beuzeville (BMCB).

The poster for this gala will of course be the clash between Lancelot de la Chapelle and Baptiste Castagnero. A fight counting for the French Professional Championship (76.2 kg). After his new victory in Canada against Brandon Brewer for the French-speaking WBC belt, Lancelot hopes to obtain the French Champion belt currently carried by his opponent. Baptiste Castagnero is an experienced boxer (38 fights). He was beaten several times but mainly by high level opponents.

Lancelot professional French champion?

“I will make war on him,” promises Lancelot de la Chapelle. I should be explosive and take advantage of his openings. By watching his fights, I saw that he had heart and dangerous shots. » If he were to emerge victorious from this fight, Lancelot would like to defend this belt at least once. And why not then try your hand at European level ?

During this evening dedicated to boxing, six amateur fights are also scheduled with representatives of the Beuzeville club: Félix Mbang (95 kg, senior) Dorian Wenderbecq (-67 kg, senior), Florian Prud'homme (-60 kg, junior), Oscar Langrené (-57 kg, junior) , Thaïs Cauwet (-54 kg, cadet) and Bastien Proton (-50 kg, cadet).

Three women will also be in the ring: Inès Roland (+70 kg, senior), Lilou Soufflet (-54 kg, junior) and Lina Lamon (-60 kg, junior). “I'm looking for two more girls for a fight. I also want to put women in the spotlight. They must be of the same category,” announces Athman Bouhemama.

The boxing school in the spotlight

The youngest will not be forgotten. Two educational boxing licensees will also be in the spotlight: Enès Brasse (-66 kg), silver medalist at the French Championship, and Ethan Deschamps (-57 kg).

In front of their family and friends, the Beuzeville boxers hope to raise their arms at the end of their fight: “This would reward the work of the three coaches,” underlines Athman Bouhemama. Coaches who take turns to help their boxers progress. “The club has more than 90 boxers, more than half of whom are young people,” concludes the club coach. The BMCB has always focused on training. Many fighters from the boxing school will be in the spotlight this Saturday, June 8 in the ring.
