No respite for the IBA. The international boxing body continues to replace one by one the national federations that have left for its competitor and rival, World Boxing. Latest: New Zealand. The IBA announces that it has granted provisional membership status to the Aotearoa New Zealand International Boxing Association. It will allow New Zealand boxers to participate in IBA events and development programs, starting with the Oceania Youth and Junior Championships, scheduled for Tahiti from July 1 to 7, 2024. The IBA recalls in a press release having contributed financially to the organization of this continental event, with aid of 100,000 dollars. New Zealand was one of the first nations to join World Boxing when it was created in spring 2023.
