Former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Dominick Reyes finally got back in the win column earlier tonight (Sat., June 8, 2024) at UFC Louisville live on ESPN+ from KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky, when “Devastator” stopped veteran Dustin Jacoby with a dominant first-round TKO (knee and punches).

It was Reyes' first UFC win since knocking out Chris Weidman in 2019.

Reyes is known for his size, but Jacoby is just as tall. Jacoby has also been much more active than Reyes in recent years, as “Devastator” has struggled with injuries from time to time. Needless to say, Reyes was the betting underdog and needed to prove he was still one of the best fighters at 205 pounds after nearly two years away.

The two light heavyweights went blow for blow during a feeling-out early period, but Reyes seemed to have the stronger punches. He finally injured Jacoby who stumbled backwards into the cage. Reyes followed suit and delivered a monster knee in the clinch that completely destroyed Jacoby. This allowed Reyes to unload shots in batches for the final finish.

it was a great way to get back in the win column and a perfect scenario for Reyes to climb the light heavyweight ranks upon his return. Watch the final moments in the video player above.
