Hunter Biden reveals top CCP leader wanted him to visit China to 'discuss business opportunities': emails

First on Fox: Hunter Biden told his business associates in late 2013 that a top Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader had asked him to travel to China to talk about future “business opportunities,” according to an email obtained and verified by Fox News Digital.

In December 2013, Biden accompanied his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, on a six-day tour around Asia that included China, South Korea, and Japan. While in Beijing, Biden introduced his father to one of his Chinese business associates, who was with another associate, in the lobby of the hotel they were staying at.

During his visit to China, Biden attended a series of events with his father, including a lunch that included some of China's most powerful CCP leaders. On December 5, Jonathan Lee, a business associate to whom Vice President Biden was introduced, emailed Biden to ask how his trip to China was going, prompting Biden to email back later that day that “everything went very well.”

“Do you know the former governor of Hong Kong—CH Trong (SP?),” Hunter asked. “He wants me to come to HK to discuss business opportunities. He sat next to Dad at the premiere lunch and said we knew each other – but I don't remember him.”

According to the CPPCC website, the CPPCC is the “core mechanism of multi-party cooperation and political consultation” led by the CCP.

Fox News Digital could not confirm whether Biden took up Tung's alleged offer to visit Hong Kong to discuss “business opportunities.”

Biden's email about Tung would not be the last time his name was mentioned in his emails. “It is my understanding that during the trip to Beijing with your father, President Xi hosted a welcome dinner,” Bulger wrote. “(A) At that dinner, you were sitting right next to Mr. Tung, so Jay and Andy believe it would be very helpful if you could send Mr. Tung a brief email saying that you are a partner and board member of BHR. And that you are to Mr. Tung. Would be grateful if he could discuss funding with your local partners.”

“Please let me know if you could introduce these two to Mr. Tung via email as this is very important to our BHR Initiative (sic) at this time,” Bulger insisted.

Biden responded that he was “happy” to grant the request but said he could not recall the names of the gentlemen who sat next to him.

“Glad to do it,” he wrote, “but I don't have Mr. Tung's email address and he may have been sitting next to me but I don't remember the names of the two gentlemen to my left and right. “Let me contact Lynn and Jay will be back soon,” Bulger replied later that day.

Multiple inquiries from Fox News Digital to Biden's lawyers, Bulger, Lee, Lu and Tung, about whether Biden had previously introduced Tung to his aides were not returned.

In addition to the 2013 dinner in Beijing, Tung has been on the guest list of “expected attendees” at at least two state dinners at the White House during the Obama-Biden administration. A biography of Tung on the Obama administration archive website for the January 2011 dinner states that he is “Vice Chairman, CPPCC, former Hong Kong Chief Executive.”

In another press release for the September 2015 state dinner, Tung's biography listed him as “Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.”
