Maresca stands out as a prominent option to take over from Guardiola. He previously served as an assistant manager alongside him for several seasons. The Italian manager has a contract with Chelsea that runs until June 2030, and it would necessitate significant compensation for him to transfer to the Etihad Stadium. Recently, Maresca’s rapport with the Chelsea management has deteriorated, but they are not considering any changes in the managerial position. Currently, Chelsea holds fourth place in the Premier League with 28 points and is poised to secure another Champions League spot for the next season.
