Latham recorded scores of 137 and 101 in the series’ third and final Test, while Conway contributed a remarkable 227 in the first innings and followed it with a century of 100 in the second. Together, they forged a partnership of 323 runs in the first innings and amassed a combined total of 515 runs, setting a new record for an opening pair in a Test match. Furthermore, Conway became only the 10th batsman in Test history to hit a double century and a century within the same match, joining the ranks of Greg Chappell, Sunil Gavaskar, Shubman Gill, Graham Gooch, Marnus Labuschagne, Brian Lara, Lawrence Rowe, Kumar Sangakkara, and Doug Walters in accomplishing this milestone.
