Phil Jones is part of a select group of former Premier League professionals who have successfully graduated from the PFA Business School, earning a Diploma in Sport Directorship. The ex-Manchester United defender, who hung up his boots last year at the age of 32, received his diploma during a ceremony this week. Sharing images on Instagram wearing his cap and gown, Jones alluded to the next phase in his career. “Completed the Global Sporting Directors course @thepfabusiness,” he posted. “Enhancing my coaching qualifications alongside my current Pro Licence as the journey progresses…” Friends and former teammates from United and England, including Antonio Valencia and Kyle Walker, as well as Benni McCarthy and Sam Allardyce – the manager who initially provided him his professional debut at Blackburn Rovers – quickly offered their congratulations.
