Atalanta finally penetrated Genoa’s defense deep into stoppage time, with Isak Hien netting a dramatic winner in the 90+4th minute to secure a tightly contested 1-0 victory after a lengthy evening of challenges. The dynamics of the match shifted almost instantly when Genoa found themselves down to ten men within the first three minutes. Goalkeeper Nicola Leali received a straight red card for a foul outside of his penalty area, leading Daniele De Rossi to make an urgent tactical adjustment and granting Atalanta a numerical edge for nearly the entirety of the match.

Gianluca Scamacca came close on two occasions; first with a fierce free-kick that sailed over the crossbar and later with a header that went off target. Charles De Ketelaere, Yunus Musah, and Daniel Maldini also had opportunities but could not challenge Genoa’s substitute goalkeeper Daniele Sommariva, who made several reliable saves.
