Dave Allen has a specific heavyweight in mind that he wants Jake Paul to battle next. The former YouTuber turned amateur professional boxer Paul has received significant recognition for his courage in stepping into the ring with Anthony Joshua. ‘AJ’ is a two-time unified heavyweight champion, an Olympic gold medalist, a powerful puncher, and towers over Paul in height, weight, and reach. However, their match this past weekend was less than thrilling, with Paul primarily focusing on defense during the first five rounds before getting caught and suffering fractures in two places of his jaw, leading to the referee halting the fight. He has now competed 13 times and has suffered two losses against the only two credible boxers he has faced. In an interview with iFL TV, heavyweight contender Allen suggested that his former rival would make for a compelling next opponent for Paul upon his return. “Johnny Fisher. I like that fight, I think it would be a good fight. Get Johnny paid. I think Johnny Fisher flattens him in one round. Johnny Fisher would just try and flatten him.” Allen has fought Fisher on two occasions, initially losing a disputed decision before winning by KO in May. ‘The Romford Bull’ has since returned to form, achieving a fourth-round TKO victory over Ivan Baláž earlier in December. It remains uncertain whether Paul will continue competing at heavyweight, given his more natural weight class is cruiserweight, and he is likely to seek out a more prominent name when he steps back into the ring.
