Hincapie out for Palace game?
Arsenal’s Piero Hincapie may not participate in the Carabao Cup quarter-final encounter against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium this evening.
The Ecuadorian has been a crucial player in the left centre-back role for the Gunners since Gabriel Magalhaes suffered a thigh injury. However, his place in the matchday squad for the fixture against Palace is uncertain due to a shoulder injury incurred during the league victory over Everton. Hincapie sustained a painful shoulder injury after a collision with Riccardo Calafiori early in the match and was absent from training yesterday. A source has indicated that the central defender might be omitted entirely from the squad to allow for recovery before the league fixtures against Brighton and Aston Villa as the year draws to a close. In that scenario, Calafiori is set to team up with William Saliba in the defensive lineup this evening. Myles Lewis-Skelly may fill the left-back position, while Jurrien Timber could occupy the right side.
