Official: Milan part ways with Origi

AC Milan has formally announced the end of Divock Origi’s contract, concluding the Belgian forward’s tenure at San Siro. Origi arrived at Milan in the summer of 2022 as a forward option following the club’s Scudetto success. Nevertheless, his stay in Italy did not take off as expected. A mix of injuries and challenges in adjusting to Serie A resulted in the former Liverpool player having a tough time making an impact, despite netting two goals that were viewed as some of the standout moments of Milan’s season. When he returned, the striker born in 1995 was still under contract at Milan but found himself effectively sidelined, training away from the first-team setup. In the last few hours, the matter was conclusively settled. With only six months left on his contract, Origi consented to a mutual termination, allowing him to become a free agent after three and a half years at Milan. The Club wishes the player all the best for the future.” Origi is now free to explore opportunities with new clubs as he aims to rejuvenate his career away from San Siro.
