He was someone I could observe daily – his technique and mindset – and he provided me with advice and little details that I still carry with me today.” While Kolarov was his primary influence, Calafiori also acknowledged classic symbols of Italian defense. “Of course, defenders such as Maldini, Nesta, Chiellini… those players are legends to me,” he noted.
