Watford reveals unique kit honoring Sir Elton John
Watford has introduced a limited-edition kit to celebrate their most notable supporter and former chairman, Sir Elton John. Drawing inspiration from the art of his 2017 “Diamonds” greatest hits album, the shirt showcases a subtle star pattern on the front, along with the silver Watford crest and Kelme logos, complemented by the club’s classic Happy Hornet badge on the hem. The collar and sleeves feature additional star designs, and the back is adorned with lyrics from one of his most well-known tracks, “Your Song.” The strip – created in partnership with Elton himself – will be donned when the Hornets take on Blackburn Rovers in the Championship. And you can tell everybody… / Watford FCThis marks the initiation of celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the music icon’s appointment as Watford chairman in 1976, during which he guided the club’s stunning ascent from the Fourth Division to the First. To kick off the launch, current players reenacted some of Elton’s most celebrated album covers in full kit. Defender Kevin Keben took on “Jump Up!” complete with a bowler hat, whereas Mattie Pollock honored “Rock of the Westies.” Half music, half football, all Watford – this creation is a true showstopper fit for the Rocket Man himself.READ THE LATEST FASHION, CULTURE AND LIFESTYLE CONTENT FROM 90MIN
