Ioka Takes Down Ordosgoitti for WBA 118lb Mandatory Opportunity

The former four-division champion and renowned Japanese veteran WBA#9 Kazuto Ioka (32-4-1, 17 KOs), fighting at 118 pounds, delivered a decisive knockout against Venezuelan #9 Maikel Ordosgoitti (15-2, 14 KOs), weighing in at 117.5, by knocking him down twice and ultimately stopping him at 2:42 of the fourth round in a bout scheduled for ten rounds held at Ota City General Gymnasium, Tokyo, Japan. At 36 years old, Ioka has recently transitioned to the bantamweight division and earned the opportunity for a mandatory shot at the WBA titleholder. The skilled counterpuncher sent Maikel to the canvas with a brutal body shot in the second round, and his punishing body attacks floored him once more, leaving him unable to respond to the count. This marked Ioka’s thirteenth appearance on New Year’s Eve.
