Derek Chisora Called Out By ‘Boxing’s Hardest Puncher’

Derek Chisora now has boxing’s hardest hitter among those he might face in his final matchup. Chisora is a seasoned heavyweight who has won the hearts of fans through his relentless performances in the ring, always delivering thrilling bouts. To date, he has been part of 49 matches, including encounters with Dillian Whyte, Tyson Fury, Joseph Parker, as well as recent victories over Otto Wallin and Joe Joyce. He also introduced Oleksandr Usyk to the heavyweight division and has consistently stated his plan to retire following his 50th fight. Initially, it appeared that his last bout would be a trilogy with Whyte, but that plan fell apart in October. Now, he has received a challenge from a former American world champion, who is known as one of the fiercest punchers in boxing. During an interview with Cigar Talk, Deontay Wilder showed keen interest in facing ‘Del Boy’ in 2026. “Ah man, that could be a real fight. You know what, let him be the warm up to the Usyk fight. I love that. If you know Derek, if you’re a fan of Derek, you know he’s not a pushover. You’re not going to bully him. The mentality he has, he has an Alpha male mentality and when you go up against another Alpha male it’s a problem.” Wilder – boasting 43 knockouts out of 44 victories – had only one fight in 2025, where he defeated Tyrell Herndon in June, a year after his knockout loss to Zhilei Zhang, and is eager to become more active leading up to a potential fight with two-time undisputed champion Usyk, who recently added him to his own target list.
