Dmitry Bivol aiming for spring comeback against Michael Eifert
Vadim Kornilov, the manager of unified light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol, informs Lance Pugmire that his fighter plans to make his return in “March or April” facing IBF mandatory challenger Michael Eifert. According to Kornilov, Bivol (24-1, 12 KO) had back surgery last August and is looking to enter training camp “soon.” Bivol navigated a challenging patch in the middle rounds to secure a majority decision victory over rival Artur Beterbiev in their February rematch, subsequently vacating the WBC title as he faced the prospect of a potential clash with then-interim champion David Benavidez, who went on to defeat Anthony Yarde after being elevated.
