Chelsea receive significant contract update regarding Mike Maignan
The Blues faced a frustrating 2-1 loss to Fulham in the Premier League last night. They encountered an early setback following Cucurella’s red card in the 22nd minute. Cucurella was dismissed for preventing a clear goal-scoring opportunity. It has now been confirmed that the Spaniard will face a one-game ban instead of three, as it was determined that the offense did not involve violent conduct. Thus, he will complete his suspension during the upcoming FA Cup match against Charlton and will be eligible for the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Arsenal. The Blues will welcome the Gunners to Stamford Bridge for the first leg of the semi-final. Although Cucurella will return for that match, they will be without Caicedo, who is also serving a suspension. Caicedo recently received his second yellow card in the League Cup, leading to a one-game ban in the tournament.
