Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has shared his latest insights regarding Enzo Maresca, as the ex-Chelsea manager is being associated with both Manchester City and Manchester United. The Italian coach recently parted ways with Chelsea, and Romano once again emphasized that he is being viewed as a potential candidate by Man City for when Pep Guardiola eventually departs the club. However, Romano, discussing on his YouTube channel, also highlighted that Guardiola has not yet come to any conclusions about his future. This makes it difficult to ascertain if or when Maresca could potentially arrive at the Etihad Stadium, while the links to Man Utd currently appear to lack substantial basis.

Addressing some reports from Italy regarding Maresca, Romano stated: “Despite all the inquiries I’m receiving about Enzo Maresca and Manchester United – he’s been mentioned in Italy for a potential position at Manchester United. “At this time, what I’m informed is that Manchester City has shown interest in Enzo Maresca for the long term. “As I’ve consistently mentioned, this is not an urgent matter. It’s not a guaranteed situation. It’s a possibility for the future if Enzo Maresca becomes available as a manager once Pep Guardiola makes his exit. But Pep has not resolved anything at this point. So, Man City holds an interest. “Conversely, from Manchester United, the indication is they are looking for a different type of coach for the summer, not someone for the present. This is why the connections from Italy regarding Maresca taking the Manchester United role immediately are something I’m told lacks any solid foundation at this moment. “Man United intends to take their time in starting the process and evaluating who the ideal manager would be for the 2026-2027 season.”
