Havertz to appear against Portsmouth?
Arsenal forward Kai Havertz might make his long-awaited return in almost five months during the FA Cup third round match against Portsmouth tomorrow.
The German international has been unavailable since mid-August following a knee injury sustained against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Havertz was included in the matchday squad for the game against Aston Villa, but has missed the subsequent two matches due to management of his workload. Manager Mikel Arteta mentioned in his press conference prior to the match that Havertz could be available to face Pompey on Sunday afternoon. Gabriel Jesus is expected to spearhead the attack against Portsmouth, with Viktor Gyokeres likely to be rested given his significant workload. This situation might open the door for Havertz to come off the bench tomorrow. Arsenal are strong favorites to triumph over Pompey at Fratton Park. Arteta will be seeking a convincing win against the Championship side. The Gunners have maintained an unbeaten record against their rivals for 67 years.
