Amir Khan Proposes Ideal Next Opponent For Tyson Fury

Amir Khan has shared his views on who Tyson Fury should consider fighting should he make a return to boxing in 2026. Fury has been on a break since January of this year. His retirement announcement came shortly after his second consecutive defeat against Oleksandr Usyk. The initial bout resulted in him losing his WBC title and almost getting stopped as Usyk became the undisputed heavyweight champion, while the second match saw him lose even more decisively on the judges’ scorecards. At that time, many fans were hoping he would finally secure a matchup with fellow British heavyweight Anthony Joshua, although that has yet to happen. After a lengthy absence following his KO defeat against Daniel Dubois, Joshua recently returned to form by stopping Jake Paul with a devastating right hand within six rounds. Immediately after the fight, Joshua called out Fury for what is one of the most eagerly awaited clashes in the sport. In a conversation with Clubhouse Boxing, former world champion Khan recommended that Fury sidestep the opponent he has recently called out and instead face a French former Olympic champion as he works his way back before a potential bout with ‘AJ.’ “Usyk is one of a kind. There’s no one really messing with Usyk. I think a good fight for Tyson would be Tony Yoka. There’s good fights for all of them. We don’t really want to see Tyson get beaten so he can come back and have that one big payday fight.” Yoka recently secured a victory in Nigeria, but Fury’s promoter Frank Warren stated that the Joshua fight can happen if the financial conditions are favorable.
