Raiders All-Pro TE Brock Bowers (knee) is anticipated to return in Week 9 for Las Vegas

The Raiders are off to a 2-5 start in their first seven contests of the 2025 season. After taking a bye in Week 8, Las Vegas will host the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9.
The team has been without the services of All-Pro TE Brock Bowers for the last three games. The second-year player suffered a posterior cruciate ligament injury along with a bone bruise in his left knee during the season opener. Although Bowers attempted to play through the injury, he was sidelined for three straight games. Following the bye week, reports from NFL insiders indicate that Brock Bowers is set to return in Week 9.
After missing three consecutive games, Brock Bowers is back in Week 9 against Jacksonville.

With their primary pass catcher returning, the Las Vegas Raiders aim to turn their season around in Week 9. Brock Bowers has been absent for the last three games due to a knee injury. He tried to play through it during weeks two to four, but the coaching staff ultimately decided it was best for him to rest. While he was eager to contribute to his teammates, Brock Bowers required time for recovery. Missing three games along with a bye week has afforded Bowers nearly a month to recuperate.
After a prolonged absence, the All-Pro TE is expected to be on the field in Week 9. This represents a significant advantage for a Raiders passing game that has struggled. In the past six weeks, the Raiders have accumulated 926 passing yards, placing them 32nd in the NFL during that timeframe. Furthermore, quarterback Geno Smith has thrown 10 interceptions this season, nine of which occurred in the last six games.

Geno Smith will welcome back his top target in Week 9 against Jacksonville. Head coach Pete Carroll mentioned that the team is “really happy to have him (Bowers) back.” In the season opener, Brock Bowers recorded five receptions on eight targets for 103 receiving yards. Throughout the season, he has made 19 catches on 27 targets for a total of 225 receiving yards.
During practice on Wednesday, Pete Carroll observed that Brock Bowers appeared to be operating at full speed. Carroll also noted that Bowers “stole the show a little bit. So, we’re thrilled to have him back.” All indications suggest that the 22-year-old TE will be fully available this Sunday. Las Vegas seeks to rejuvenate its season following a 2-5 start, as they play at home in Week 9 against the 4-3 Jaguars, who are on a two-game losing streak.
