Dolphins part ways with head coach McDaniel

Mike McDaniel has become the most recent casualty in postseason coaching within the NFL, as the Miami Dolphins announced his dismissal. This decision to end McDaniel’s four-year stint in Miami follows a disappointing 7-10 season, where the Dolphins did not secure a playoff position for the second consecutive year.
A statement from Dolphins owner Stephen M. Ross shared on X stated: “After thorough evaluation and significant discussions since the conclusion of the season, I have made the choice that our organization needs a complete overhaul.

“I notified Mike McDaniel this morning that he has been dismissed from his role as head coach. I have great respect for Mike and wish to express gratitude for his dedication, hard work, and the enthusiasm he infused into our organization.” Mike is an exceptionally innovative football thinker whose love for the game and his players was apparent each day. I extend my best wishes to him and his family in their future endeavors.”

Shortly after the last Week 18 games concluded on Sunday, the dismissal of Raheem Morris from the Atlanta Falcons initiated a wave of coaching changes throughout the NFL. By Monday, the Cleveland Browns had terminated Kevin Stefanski, while Pete Carroll’s short tenure with the Raiders in Las Vegas concluded, and the Arizona Cardinals parted ways with Jonathan Gannon.
On Tuesday, John Harbaugh made headlines as he was the most notable high-profile dismissal when the Baltimore Ravens decided to move on from their Super Bowl-winning coach after 18 years.
