He sported the away kit during the initial weekend against Mainz, before changing into the third kit for the encounter with Freiburg. Regarding this choice, Kwasniok expressed his desire to demonstrate his commitment to the club. So, the decision became evident: if I can do it, I will,” he remarked in a post-match conversation after Koln’s opening day triumph over Mainz. “I want to dedicate myself to this club, and I do so with pride while wearing this jersey.” With a chuckle, he also shared a personal motive for his choice: “I believed that the combination of black and white-red might make me appear a bit slimmer. However, based on what I saw on TV after the game, that didn’t exactly turn out as planned.” Koln currently holds the third position in the Bundesliga, trailing only Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt.
