George Foreman And Mike Tyson Both Claimed One Fighter Was Even Better Than Muhammad Ali

Iconic heavyweight legends George Foreman and Mike Tyson assert that there is one boxer who surpasses Muhammad Ali. Famously dubbed ‘The Greatest’, Ali is largely regarded as one of the top fighters to have ever worn boxing gloves. He clinched the world heavyweight title multiple times throughout his illustrious professional journey, achieving career-defining victories against notable opponents such as Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier, and George Foreman. However, not everyone holds Ali’s achievements in the highest regard; ‘Iron Mike’ Tyson has expressed that Sugar Ray Robinson deserves the title of the ‘greatest fighter ever’ in a recently resurfaced interview. “Sugar Ray Robinson was the greatest fighter that ever lived.” George Foreman, a former adversary of Ali, shares this viewpoint, having previously stated that he believes Robinson is the finest fighter to have ever entered the ring. “There’s no doubt about it. Sugar Ray Robinson was the best I ever saw.” Robinson’s remarkable legacy speaks volumes and continues to be a topic of discussion within the boxing community even today. The Georgia-born fighter participated in a staggering 201 bouts during his career from 1940 to 1965. He held the world welterweight championship for five years from 1946 to 1951 before moving up to middleweight, where he became the world champion five times over a span of nine years.
