Man Utd striker pushing for exit despite Amorim departure

Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee is advocating for a transfer away from the Red Devils this winter, despite the recent firing of manager Ruben Amorim, according to Il Messaggero.
Amorim was recently removed from the head coaching role following a string of draws against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leeds United. Currently, Darren Fletcher has taken over as interim manager. Zirkzee made a substitute appearance in the latest 2-2 draw against Burnley on the road, yet the Dutch player remains resolute in seeking a new challenge away from the Manchester club in the near future. The Netherlands international has already settled personal terms on a four-year contract with Roma in Serie A, and he is optimistic about securing a starting position for the Giallorossi moving forward. Negotiations are continuing behind the scenes, but Zirkzee is eager for the transfer and will not alter his position despite Amorim’s dismissal. A loan arrangement with a mandatory purchase option may be coming together soon.
