Maximilian Ibrahimovic to depart Milan for Ajax, emulating Zlatan’s journey

Maximilian Ibrahimovic is set to follow in his father Zlatan’s path by transitioning from Milan to Ajax, on loan with an option to purchase. Various reports, including from Sky Sport Italia, confirm that the deal is complete and that the clubs are currently exchanging paperwork. This arrangement will involve a loan with a purchasing option at the end of the season for €3.5m, while Milan will keep a share of the sell-on fee. He has netted five goals and provided four assists in 16 Serie D games this season, as the Milan youth team faced relegation from Serie C at the conclusion of the previous term. This will mark the first time in 22 years that an Ibrahimovic dons the Ajax jersey, as Zlatan played for them from 2001 to 2004, when he first entered Serie A with Juventus. Zlatan recorded 48 goals and delivered 17 assists for Ajax across 110 competitive matches, but is now serving as a senior advisor for Milan.
