La Gazzetta dello Sport indicates that Alberto Gilardino is on thin ice at Pisa and could be succeeded by Davide Ancelotti. The club is contemplating parting ways with Gilardino to bring in Carlo Ancelotti’s son, Davide, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport. Pisa’s disappointing performance in 2025-26 has led to this consideration. Stefano Moreo’s late goal against Cagliari this past weekend prevented a further loss for the Nerazzurri as well as a potential dismissal for Gilardino, as reported by Gazzetta, though the coach’s exit appears to be merely delayed. The newly promoted Serie A team is set to face Juventus at home in their next match, and Gilardino’s job is likely at risk with a loss. Unsurprisingly, Pisa’s unsatisfactory results (one victory, eight draws, and seven defeats in Serie A this season) are the key reasons prompting club officials to consider removing the 2006 Italy World Cup victor from his position.

Ancelotti was recently let go by Brazilian team Botafogo after finishing his inaugural season as a head coach of a professional team.
