At 41 years old, Thiago Silva has made his return to the European football arena after he finalized a deal with Primeira Liga powerhouse Porto on Friday. Silva has committed to the team until the conclusion of the 2025-26 season after he cut short his contract with Fluminense by six months. Speculation linked him with a move back to Chelsea, and his transfer to European football seems driven by his desire to compete in the World Cup next summer. He subsequently returned to Brazil for a second term with Fluminense, leading them in the Club World Cup during the summer.
